The marriage of film and music is an indelible aspect of cinematic storytelling, shaping the emotional landscape of narratives and enhancing viewer engagement. But in my view, a lot of music composed specifically for films can stand on its own as a fantastic listening experience.
Which is why the next episode of the Viking Diaries Outloud will feature selections of film scores from some composing legends, including John Williams, Ennio Morricone, James Horner and John Barry, all of whom have crafted unforgettable melodies that stick with movie-goers long after the credits roll.
While you may not know all of their names, you will definitely know their music, and I’m excited to share some of my favourites on TVDO, now airing on a new day and time: Fridays at 5pm Eastern, 2pm Pacific. Let’s kick off the weekend together!
Also new for 2025 is the official 90s Plus Radio app for iOS! You can access the download right here on the 90s Plus website, or grab it the next time you visit the App Store. What could be better than having your favorite decade of music available at the touch of a button?
